A: Probably not, but make us an offer.

  2. are you aware of any computer/online/iphone programs that are capable of carrying such task of calculating weather+driving+breakfast+shower time according to your preset calendar times and waking you up accordingly?

  3. @Alex I don’t believe the idea has been done before. We’re looking into extending it into a smartphone app to get the dynamic wakeup functionality for people who use their phones solely to wake up. You’ll just lose the X10 goodies really.

  4. Nice job with the design and execution of a great idea.
I’ve normally used a ribbon cable style female header socket and sometimes it’s just not the right solution for certain applications. I see you have found a solution that I have been looking for, I was wondering what type of female header sockets you are using, they look like they work great.

    Thanks, Luke

  5. So you don’t want to market in – what about some plans? I would realy like the entire PCB design and the source code, because I realy like the project and I think that it can be expanded into something much more than just an alarm clock.

  6. @Luke they are Tyco MTA-100 connectors.

For the two components that are floating above the PCB, the stranded wire we used was heavy and short enough that it gave the rigidity to hold the parts in place. In a final build those two parts would be soldered to the main board of course.

  8. Wow this is an awesome clock! My wife had me out searching for an alarm clock that can be programmed to play a given MP3 file before bed and in the morning (meditation stuff). Believe it or not I can’t even find that. This is a way cool project guys. I’ll buy one when you hit the market. I’d love to build one if you ever go open source with the plan, or make a kit for amateurs@

  9. I have been wanting something like this for years! I’ve been seeking and searching for this kind of thing. The ihome products are similar, but I really wanted something that would sync with my google calendar! Way to go guys! You really should market this. One thing I love about the ihome stuff is the music starts off quiet and gradually increases in loudness, to wake you up slowly. If you could add the ability to adjust the level of this waking music sound, it would be an added bonus.

Very cool guys! Market it! I want one!
